We are excited to offer our patients single visit computerized dentistry utilizing CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) technology. This process eliminates the need for messy impression taking which may be difficult for some patients, especially those who have a tendency to gag. An optical impression is taken utilizing a user-friendly camera, which scans the teeth and creates a virtual model of one’s teeth. A restoration is designed with the aid of a computer and then it is milled/ground out of a block of high-quality ceramic, glazed and baked in an oven. Once the restoration is ready, it is bonded onto the remaining tooth and the patient leaves with everything done in one appointment. No need for temporaries as everything is completed in our office in one single visit.
The system utilized is called CEREC which stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. It allows us to create strong, esthetically beautiful, long lasting, well fitting crowns, veneers, implant crowns, bridges, and onlays. From restoring a single tooth to redesigning and rebuilding a smile, our results with CEREC have been outstanding.
